Similar to other smartphone makers, LG Electronics is also slated to release another flagship device this year. Dubbed as LG G6 the handset is expected to make its first appearance at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 featuring Google Assistant technology.

According to The Christian Times, Google Assistant was only exclusive to the Google Pixel and Pixel XL. But then, it seems that the software giant has decided to convey it to the LG offering.

With this, it appears that the LG G6 will be the first non-Pixel device to have Google Assistant. Nonetheless, it is somewhat surprising that LG turned to Google for the feature instead of creating a new digital assistant for the flagship smartphone

Aside from the Google Assistant, it was also reported that LG G6 might sport a dual-camera setup, a fingerprint sensor and a USB-C charging port. Also, the 3.5mm headphone might also be ditched.

Furthermore, Phone Arena has learned that just in case the biggest search engine company won't allow LG Electronics to include its Google Assistant on the G6, the South Korean smartphone maker already has a plan B.

According to some sources in the industry, the South Korean tech giant is determined to approach Amazon, which is another company that owns AI technology grander to what LG Electronics could come up in such a short time left until the LG G6's launch.

With this move, the advantage would be that LG has already used Amazon's Alexa AI in its new home appliances products, so there is a high possibility that the US-based company might agree on the partnership if Google says no.

LG Electronics has already confirmed that the LG G6 will make its first appearance during a launch event on February 26 this year. Nevertheless, the flagship smartphone might not be able to hit the market shelves until March or early April.
