iPad Mini 5 Release & Specs: New iPad To Launch In March With A9 Processor, 3D Touch & More Killer Features [VIDEO]

Apple iPad Mini 5 is one of the most anticipated devices for which Apple fans are waiting for. There are lots of rumors and speculations surfacing currently about the said device.

NeuroGadget reported that the iPad Mini 5 might come out in March as rumours suggest. Many people are hoping that the device would be a lot slimmer than, and will be offered for the same price. A flexible screen and smart connector can also be featured with the upgraded iPad Mini.

At Apple's March 2016 event, the company unveiled its new iPhone SE, 9.7in iPad Air Pro, iOS 9.3 and new Apple Watch straps. Looking at the current trend and rumours, Mac World think Apple will release the iPad mini 5, or iPad Pro Mini to be released at the 2017 March event. It is also rumoured that it might be dubbed as the iPad Pro mini because of its new rumoured launch date, since it would follow the iPad Pro line-up.

For the specs, according to PC Advisor, the iPad Mini 5 will be having a 3D Touch technology that allows users to do various tasks on their devices. The same technology was also introduced to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Speculation, however, suggests that the iPad mini 5 will be even thinner than their predecessors (which are already an incredible 6.1mm), at just 5mm. The iPad mini 5 could also boast a different chassis, this time made with 7000-series aluminium like the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to make it more durable.

While it is little sceptical to say about the iPad mini 5 that it will be having a flexible or possibly even foldable display, recent patents suggest that Apple has been working on the technology for the iPhone for a number of years. The technology would perhaps be more important on an iPad, allowing users to 'fold up' the large screen of the iPad and put it in their pocket.

iPad mini 5 is also expected to have 8MP camera on the rear and 1.2Mp on the front. The processor of the device should be improved to an A9 processor over the A8, so we will see a speed bump and improved graphics for the iPad Mini 5. Additionally, an IP68 protection could also make the iPad Mini 5 resistant to water. It would already similar to the iPhone 7 which was released with an IP68 certification.
