Microsoft is currently concentrating on developing the Microsoft Surface Phone 2017. Reports show that Microsoft would announce the upcoming smartphone before the end of 2017, but the device will officially launch in 2018.

The confirmation that Microsoft is developing its next-gen flagship came from Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft. The Surface Phone 2017 is apparently a top notch gadget of the Company for which the fans are eagerly waiting.

Though previous rumors were that the Microsoft Surface Phone would be announced in mid-2016, since of the long period needed to develop a capable smartphone, the roll out would be moved to 2018 as per the Smart Stock News. Despite the disappointment in the launch delay, the longer period for development points that Microsoft is not holding back in developing its next flagship.

Reports surfacing on the internet say that Microsoft Surface Phone would have similar specs as the Nokia Lumia XL. It is expected to boast a 5.5-inch screen with quad HD resolution with packing a display of 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution.

A recent Microsoft patent which was shared by MSPoweruser also showed that the handset might be having foldable features so that it can be a two-in-one device. It will have a 5.5-inch display, but when used as a tablet, the screen can be transformed into 7.9 inches. The said patent was approved by the United States Patent and Trademark on Jan. 10, which was submitted by a person named Kabir Siddiqui on behalf of Microsoft.

Surface Phone 2017 will also be packing some killer features like an Adreno 430 graphics card with an octa-core processor under the hood. The device might also be installed with Qualcomm 835 Snapdragon SoC, and a 64-bit Windows 10. However, Express reports that Microsoft is having trouble with its Windows 10 Mobile Redstone 3 OS, it is struggling in comparison to the popularity of rivals Android OS of Google and iOS of Apple.

The processor of the phone is said to have an 8GB of RAM and a 512GB of internal storage.Surface Phone 2017 is going to be announced in the late 2017 but the official launch will happen in the coming year.
