Although "FIFA 18" is still months away from the official release date, EA has surprisingly confirmed that the good story mode from "FIFA 17" will be returning to the popular football video game series. This is definitely an early surprise for the loyal "FIFA" players as they wait eagerly for the next game installment.

According to Telegraph, EA CEO, Andrew Wilson himself revealed that "The Journey Season Two" will feature new storylines with new characters. Further, the upcoming installment will reportedly build on the foundation created by the story mode.

"The Journey" initially followed the life of Premier League starlet, Alex Hunter, and engaged players in the game as he made his way through the first season if his professional career. The highs and lows, triumph and defeat of being a professional player has compelled and hooked the players to come up with a happy ending. In "FIFA 18," Alex's character is still expected to return, despite of Andrew Wilson's statement that new characters and new storylines will be revealed in "The Journey Seson Two."

"FIFA 18" is also slated to be the most emotionally immersive "FIFA" installment. our development team in Vancouver is delivering deeply innovative new experiences across this year's game, including Ultimate Team, and creating the most emotionally immersive and connected FIFA we have ever produced," Wilson said.

Of course, the success of "FIFA 17" does not really guarantee the same for "FIFA 18." Although "FIFA 17" was dubbed as the best selling console game in 2016, it does not really say the same for EA's newest addition to the family. Players and game critics are on the lookout on how EA will stand firm to its announcement that the upcoming game installment will bring a whole new experience to the players. However, it seems like the fans of "FIFA 18" are still hoping that the game will retain a sense of familiarity as Dream Team FC reports that there is an ongoing petition online asking EA to bring back the popular lounge mode.
