Selena Gomez and The Weeknd may have gone too far according to some, one in particular being Selena Gomez' mother. The former Disney child star is said to be undergoing a rather tough phase as of the moment, which her mother does not condone at all.

Both pop culture personalities have undergone renowned relationships in the past, and have now found what seems to be a steady understanding with each other's company. However, it was recently a thing of intrigue when Gomez was said to be living in the same league as her druggie man, The Weeknd.

According to Radar Online, Gomez' mother, Mandy Teefy, pounded down the hammer when it came to the talks with her daughter and The Weeknd. She once told the female singing sensation to "Ditch the drink, drugs, and dating, or you will have hell to pay!" This pertains to what was said to be the abuse of the aforementioned substances that Gomez was reportedly in rehab for although the artist fully denies the allegations.

It was also justified that Gomez went into rehab twice, defending that he was merely exhausted and feels the complications of her lupus. One similar report claims how Gomez was distraught by her mother's attack on The Weeknd, indicating that she is indeed, serious with the disapproval of her daughter's relationship. Gomez' diagnosis of lupus may have caused the actress depression, in which she hired a life coach to battle away from it.

Despite the conflicts, Mail Online noted that Gomez still shows herself in public with full confidence and fashionable prowess. The female icon wore a long black coat coming from a flight, meeting her man for dinner even after his absence from the Super Bowl. The two have retained a rather undeniable sweetness as of late, with Gomez being on the receiving end of The Weeknd's actions.
