"Green Lantern Corps" is one promise that DC wishes to live up to after the flop that befell the 2011 film. However, the question on who the movie will cast has not changed-if anything, the slots seem to be more than free for the time being.

As the "Justice League" movie is ready to showcase itself this year, the DC universe seems to want more of the heroes that make up the powerhouse team. This, of course, pertains as well to the ever-popular Green Lantern, which has been confirmed of getting a movie of his own with the rest of the Lanterns in "Green Lantern Corps."

According to IGN, one of the candidates to play John Stewart in "Green Lantern Corps" is rapper Common, who is no stranger to sci-fi and action flicks. The actor sat down at one point to speak about how he may have some interest on the role, despite not being fully asked to be on-board just yet. "No, I haven't spoken to DC. John Stewart, the character, is amazing. When I had the opportunity of potentially being John Stewart, when we were working, I learned how he was part of the Green Lantern Corps and all that he was doing. He was kind of community-driven so I felt like, 'Oh, man, I love this character,'" Common explained.

The rapper also revealed how he somewhat feels a connection between his personality to that of John Stewart, and would be honored to play the role. As aforementioned, however, there is no news yet on his confirmation. "Green Lantern Corps" is still on a massive manhunt in terms of who to cast as Hal Jordan, with a list that comprises of Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise, Jake Gyllenhaal and Armie Hammer-even Ryan Reynolds once again.

"Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps" is the current DC take on the world of the Lanterns. It is also yet to be confirmed if this will be the direction that the movie will go to as it airs on July 24th, 2020.
