Those who look forward to "Pitch Perfect 3" can enjoy the new cast of the film. The most recent one is "The Crown" star John Lithgow, although it is not clear what exactly his role is going to be.

The 71-year-old Broadway star, John Lithgow, has reportedly signed up for the third film in the delightful musical franchise, according to Empire. Other characters of the crew in "Pitch Perfect 3" include Anna Kendrick (Beca), Rebel Wilson (Fat Amy), Hailee Steinfeld (Emily), Chrissie Fit (Flo), Kelly Jakle (Jessica) and Ester Dean (Cynthia Rose).

John Lithgow will not be among the newer members of Barden Bellas. Those who are familiar with the Universal Pictures and Gold Circle Entertainment musical comedy franchise would understand that this completely female cappella group at Barden University would not take on a male actor in "Pitch Perfect 3."

The new "Pitch Perfect 3" star's membership in the new movie is exciting. John Lithgow acted as Winston Churchill in "The Crown" and was awarded a Golden Globes nomination. Recently, he was also Beatriz at "Dinner," premiering at Sundance, according to Variety. More of his television shows include "3rd Rock from the Sun" and "Dexter. Other movies include "Blow Out," "The World According to Garp," "Terms of Endearment," "Twilight Zone: The Movie." The "Footloose" as well as the well-known "Harry and the Hendersons," along with "Raising Cain," and "Rise of the Planet of the Apes."

The new "Pitch Perfect 3" actor has walked quite a long way, having gained a couple of Tony Awards. The list goes on with five Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. The viewer can quote three Screen Actors Guild Awards, an American Comedy Award and four Drama Desk Awards for his hall of fame. He even got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and got inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame.

Producers of Gold Circle Entertainment, that is Paul Brooks and Max Handelman and Elizabeth Banks of Brownstone Productions are the producers of "Pitch Perfect 3." It is being directed by Trish Sie, and scripted by Kay Cannon, with a draft from Mike White. The movie is expected to be out on Dec. 22, 2017.
