Huawei has recently confirmed that the Android 7.0 Nougat is coming to its flagship Honor 8. It can be remembered that the Chinese company had announced last year that their flagship device Honor 8 will be rolled out with the latest operating system (OS) and Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.0 in February 2017. As promised the latest update is here.

Honor USA official twitter account tweeted about this news mentioning EMUI 5.0 is coming to Honor 8 from Feb 11th. The design of EMUI 5.0 is said to be taken from the Aegan Sea landscape, which brings a fresh new shell for the Honor 8. There are also improvements under the phone's hood, which includes tighter and more dynamic security features.

The new EMUI 5.0 skin was also applied with a lot of changes and improvements, making the Honor 8 more efficient than before. There are several features like app drawer option; Android feel and longer battery life are to be expected with this update. Just like any other updates, Android 7.0 Nougat and EMUI 5.0 carry several big fixes that include the choice to rearrange the list in the handset's settings.

Android 7.0 Nougat is being most anticipated on the Honor 8 due to useful features like the new shortcut, which lets the user switch from one app to another by just double-tapping the current program on screen. The status bar and the notifications can also be customized according to user's liking. Also the multi-window feature will allow the user to run several apps at the same time while the new emoji offers better expression, as per the 9To5Google.

If you own an Honor 8 phone, then you should expect to receive an OTA notification any time soon or in the next couple of days. It's supposedly a global rollout but USA and UK might receive it first. After the Honor 8, it is expected that other smartphones from Huawei will also receive the same Android Nougat update like the Honor 6X later in March, Huawei V8, 8, G9 Plus, Nova, Note 8, Mate 8, P9, P9 Plus, and the MediaPad M3.
