Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani Dating: Singer Jokes About Beau 'Forgetting' Valentine's Day [VIDEO]
They've been blissfully happy for more than a year, but that doesn't mean that Blake Shelton completely remembered Valentine's Day with Gwen Stefani.
The couple spent the holiday apart because Stefani was in New York for work while Shelton was at his home in Oklahoma, and Stefani joked while appearing on The Today Show that because they were apart, Shelton had forgotten about the holiday, quickly admitting though that she was joking, and he still managed to surprise her with some romantic treats.
"We weren't together. I was here and he was in Oklahoma, He forgot!" She said. "No, just kidding. I got some beautiful flowers and lots of texts. It was fun... I mean, you know... I'm in New York and he's in Oklahoma."
Her joke comes after she shared a video on her Instagram page of herself, Shelton, and their fellow Voice coaches Adam Lambert and Alicia Keyes, as they all made plans for Valentine's Day and wished one another one.
In that video, Shelton pretends to give a gift to his girlfriend, before he gets distracted by it and goes off to have a private moment.
"Gwen, I got this to show you how much I care about you," he says in the video as he holds up a teddy bear. "Yes it is! Yes it is!"
He then goes to playfully kiss the bear, but things then jokingly turn serious, and he gets seriously into the moment and wanders out of frame.
During her appearance on Today, Stefani also joked with Carson Daly, who hosts The Voice and who she's worked with, as he admitted he still couldn't believe the two were a couple.
"You're dating Blake Shelton, which is so weird for me. What do you see in that guy?" He joked. It's crazy!"
"What are you talking about?" Stefani laughed. "What are you talking about? Greatest guy ever. You love him. He loves you."
