The Moto G5 and the G5 Plus are expected to be unveiled in late February during the MWC 2017. The recent leak is coming from a Spanish retailer, who has inadvertently published what appear to be the official details of the upcoming Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus.

Even though the post was taken down immediately, it was not before passionate dwellers of the Internet have copied and shared it in several blogging sites, Auto World News reported. According to the post new Moto G5 series sports a lot of changes in terms of exterior design. The new Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus have a new circular share for the camera lens and just below the camera lens, there is a Moto batwing logo.

On the front, the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus ditch the square home button, a hat was found on the Moto Z and Moto G4 for a rather conventional rounded rectangle shape. Almost certainly the most interesting shift in design is the option to use metal for the smartphone chassis, in the place of plastic.

The leak from the retailer also provided an insightful peek into what is under the hood of the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus. The Motorola Moto G5 Plus is expected to come with a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. On the camera front, the Motorola Moto G5 Plus is rumored to pack a 12-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter, according to Slash Gear.

Both Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus sports 2GB of memory, according to Android Central. The Moto G5 has 32GB of storage space, while the Moto G5 Plus has 64GB. Both smartphones have a fingerprint scanner; it is a big addition because this was not a feature of the Moto G4. Nevertheless, only the Moto G5 Plus sports an NFC sensor, and the Moto G5 does not.

The Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus tipped to be a single SIM (GSM). Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG, Headphones, 3G, and 4G. Both smartphones are expected to run on latest Android 7.0 Nougat mobile operating system.

The Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus will officially unveil at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona will open its doors on February 27, 2017. Both upcoming smartphones are expected to hit the market within the second quarter of the year.
