Lady Gaga's appearance on the RuPaul's Drag Race season 9 premiere was met with elation from the show's drag queens, as well as the panel of judges.

Kressley, one of the judges on RuPaul's Drag Race, wrote up a recap for People of the season 9 premiere that aired Friday night on VH1. The former Queer Eye for the Straight Guy host commented on each drag queen individually before discussing Gaga's guest appearance.

As Kressley discusses, the premiere featured Gaga sashaying into the work room under the pretense of being one of the contestants, only to reveal herself as the pop superstar herself. The judge wrote about the queens' reactions when this went down and how her ultimate message made him tear up.

"Wasn't it so fun watching the squeals of delight when they figured it out? Meltdowns were had by all. Even I had one while watching at home!" Kressley wrote. "I thought it was especially wonderful when Eureka and Gaga had their moment and Gaga fan-girled back, saying she has always loved drag, especially - and I'm paraphrasing through tears here, people - when it gives you the ability to love yourself when you don't want to be you. Can I get an amen?!"

Gaga has certainly made a career out of gender bending, over-the-top fashion and performance art, so it was clear from the start that she would fit right in on RuPaul's Drag Race. The major challenge of the premiere involved the queens re-creating a memorable Gaga look, and the queens went all out with looks inspired by her various videos and live performances. Gaga served as a guest judge, offering her opinion on each look.

This season will feature numerous major guest stars, including Kesha, Meghan Trainor, The B-52's, Tori Spelling, Naya Rivera, Denis O'Hare, Todrick Hall, Andie MacDowell, Lisa Kudrow, Tamar Braxton and more.

RuPaul's Drag Race airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on VH1.
