Woody Allen's upcoming film Blue Jasmine, the details of which have been kept tightly under wraps until now, stars a stellar cast including Louis CK and Cate Blanchett.

A theatrical trailer for the film was released June 7.

The plot revolves around Cate Blanchett's character, Jasmine, who goes from a New York socialite to a woman down-and-out alcoholic living with her sister (played by Sally Hawkins) in San Francisco after Jasmine's husband (played by Alec Baldwin) is arrested for fraud.

Bobby Cannavale (The Station Agent), Andrew Dice Clay, Peter Sarsgaard (The Killing, Boys Don't Cry), Max Casella (Inside Llewyn Davis, Boardwalk Empire) and Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man) all co-star.

The press release for the film, produced by Sony Picture Classics, noted that the film "is the story of the final stages of an acute crisis and a life of a fashionable New York housewife."

Allen's last few films were shot overseas, but most of Blue Jasmine was shot on-location in San Francisco and New York.

Season 4 of comedian CK's FX series Louie was pushed back from premiering in summer 2013 to spring 2014.

The Emmy winner said that he hopes to turn the show into something great with more time to develop the next season.

C.K. planned to begin writing the new season early 2013 and shoot in September. He said he looked forward to the writing, editing and promotion of the show being spaced out a little, timewise.

"The last three seasons have been this surge of fun and work and stories, and it's been great to share all this stuff...I want it to be something that comes from somewhere important and funny," C.K. said.
