Emma Watson said in a recent interview with Total Film magazine that she almost quit acting, according to an entertainmentwise.com report June 7.

The actress, who has most recently been seen in her award-winning role of The Perks of Being A Wallflower, and will appear in upcoming movies The Bling Ring and This Is This End said she was considering dropping her role as an actress when she finished the Harry Potter series in 2010.

“I basically took two years out and stepped as far away from it as I could,” said Watson. “I took time to really try and figure out who I was and what I wanted to do. I even considered not being an actor.”

It was then that she decided to attend Brown University, where Watson will be soon be returning in the Fall of 2013 after a two year break.

The actress recently admitted that she sometimes feels inadequate as an actress, according to a Rookie magazine interview on May 27. The actress had lost confidence in herself after filming the Harry Potter movies, and only gained back that confidence after filming The Perks Of Being A Wallflower.

"After Harry Potter I didn't feel very confident in myself as an actor. It's lucky that I've improved that now, but back then I needed someone to believe in me, and [director] Stephen [Chbosky] really did,” she said.

Watson was seen in Los Angeles last week promoting her films This Is The End and The Bling Ring, both released this week.
