Kevin Durant just said and confirmed that if the Golden State Warriors will be invited to the White House for a courtesy call, he will not join his team. It was reported that his decision is in protest of the current administration's policies. Meanwhile, one of his teammates, Stephen Curry lauded him for his decision.

The Warriors just won the 2017 NBA title and it is expected that the team will get an invitation from the White House. But latest details from Bleacher Report just confirmed that Durant will not be one of the players in attendance. During his latest interview with Chris Haynes of ESPN, he said that he would never do that since he doesn't respect who is in office at the moment.

So far, US President Donald Trump has not yet extended any formal invitations to the Warriors being the reigning NBA champions but it might not also matter. Meanwhile, apart from Durant, Tim Kawakami and Marcus Thompson of The Athletic also said that the team is not likely to head to the White House while the president is Donald Trump.

Even if the decision and opinion of Kevin Durant will not speak for the rest of the Warriors, the 28-year old said that he feels others will also agree with him then possibly join him. Even if it is just his personal opinion, he claimed that he knows his guys very well and they will end up agreeing with him.

It can be recalled that during a parade in his honor held in his hometown in Prince George's County, Maryland, he made a complete agreement with the people who were very vocal about disliking President Donald Trump's actions and policies. He then made it clear that's how things are supposed to be done and people need to oppose if there is a need to do it.

Prior to the decision of Durant, Washington Times claimed that the Warriors have been very vocal already in its opposition to Trump since this public official was elected. The team's head coach, Steve Kerr was once heard criticizing the elected president saying that he is not suited for the office.

Upon applauding Durant, Stephen Curry together with Andre Iguodala has also decided to turn down any invitation from the White House. If every member of the team has the same opinion, then there is a rare chance the invitation will be accepted.
