Celebrity parents don't always have the best track record when it comes to baby names, so when Jessica Simpson revealed she and fiancé Eric Johnson were planning a "nontraditional baby name" for their daughter, we feared the worst.

Simpson even reassured the public the name was "nothing shocking and nothing you'll have to add to the dictionary." But we've all heard that before, right?

However, a "family friend" told In Touch the Fashion Star judge will name her soon-to-be bundle of joy Maxwell -- Maxi for short. The name, which is usually associated with boys, happens to be Johnson's middle name as well as his grandmother's maiden name. "Jessica wanted a name with meaning," the source said.

Simpson has been spotted wearing a necklace with the letter "M," but when Ryan Seacrest asked about the pendant, the ready-to-pop singer kept tight-lipped.
