Tiffany Haddish Dubs Golden Globes And Nabs New Role In Comedic Thriller
As if 2017 wasn't the best year for Tiffany Haddish, 2018 is about to get better. The Girls Trip star has just nabbed a new role in a comedic thriller.
Haddish, along with Ike Barinholtz will star in the 2018 film, The Oath. The film will be written and directed by Barinholtz, while Haddish will serve as the executive producer for the project.
Along with The Oath, Haddish will also star in another comedy film, Night School, alongside comedian Kevin Hart.
Girls Trip is a comedy film about four best friends who decide to rekindle their sisterhood and rediscover their wild side as they travel to New Orleans for the Essence Festival.
Fans as well as Jada Pinkett Smith were surprised to find out that Girls Trip was not nominated for a 2018 Golden Globe. As we previously reported, Pinkett took to Twitter to defend her co-star and the film.
Girls Trip was one of the most successful films this summer & Tiff was hands down the funniest person on screen in 2017 and we couldn't get eyes on the film or a press conference. How could a nom happen & how much more critical acclaim must a movie have to simply get a screening?

On Wednesday, the actress also made claims that members of the Hollywood Foreign Press failed to show up for both private screenings of the film and press conferences in support of the movie.
I'm not upset about @TiffanyHaddish or @GirlsTripMovie not getting a nom... I'm discouraged about the fact that the Hollywood Foreign Press/@goldenglobes wouldn't even WATCH the movie. — Jada Pinkett Smith (@jadapsmith) December 12, 2017Last year, Pinkett was one of the first celebrities to announce that she was boycotting the academy awards. When asked why she wouldn't attend, Pinkett said, "We are dignified people, and we are powerful. Let's let the Academy do them, with all grace and love. And let's do us, differently." Tiffany has not made a direct response about the Golden Globes, but she did thank Jada as well as all of her fans on Twitter for their support.
Thank all of y’all for your love and support, I don’t know or care much about snubs because I’m not nasty like that!! But I love my girl Jada and I love all of you! @jadapsmith @VanityFair #SHEREADY — Tiffany Haddish (@TiffanyHaddish) December 13, 2017
