Veteran actress Jamie Lee Curtis is returning to Haddonfield, Illinois to reprise her role as Laurie Strode in the upcoming Halloween sequel.

The film will also bring back Nick Castle, who portrayed the villain, Michael Myers, in the original 1978 flick.

Laurie Comes Home

Curtis shared a picture on Instagram while she was on set with scriptwriter David Gordon Green. In the photo, Curtis is sporting a pair of glasses. Her hair is also longer which resembles the same style she had in the original film. Alien:Convenant and Your Highness actor, Danny McBride is also the co-writer for the film.

The film will take place forty years after the 1978 movie, where Strode will have her "final" confrontation with Michael Myers. John Carpenter, the director of the first film, is set to be the sequel's executive producer. Carpenter, who did not agree with the Halloween remakes directed by Rob Zombie, stated that he wanted this story to be as "terrifying as the original."

According to Green and McBride, the 2018 movie will follow the events of the initial film and completely ignore the sequels.

"We all came to the decision that remaking something that already works isn't a good idea. So we just have a re-imagining instead," McBride stated. The 2018 movie may also nix the storyline of Myers being Laurie's brother and give Myers a more horrifying and mysterious backstory.

"I want to be scared by something that I really think could happen. I think it's much more horrifying to be scared by someone standing in the shadows while you're taking the trash out as opposed to someone who can't be killed pursuing you," McBride commented.

Judy Greer will portray Karen Strode, Laurie's daughter, and Andi Matichak will play Allyson Strode, Karen's daughter, and Laurie's granddaughter.

The 2018 Halloween film will also star Virginia Gardner, Miles Robbins, Dylan Arnold, Drew Scheid, and Will Patton.
