Cheryl Burke is officially having the best birthday ever. The Dancing with the Stars coach just got engaged to her longtime partner, Matthew Lawrence.

The Best Birthday Ever

She shared the happy news on Instagram Thursday night, May 3, including photos of her stunning diamond ring. The happy couple was at Montage Laguna Beach, CA when Lawrence popped the question.

Burke, who was celebrating her 34th birthday, was photographed against the sunset, covering half her face with her ring finger while Lawrence kissed her sweetly on the cheek.

"OMG! So far so good for 34! #amilliontimesyes #imengaged#herecomesthebride," Burke wrote in the accompanying caption.

The dancer shared several happy photos of she and Lawrence, most of which gave fans the all-important close-up look at her massive engagement ring. Prior to his big proposal, Burke excitedly shared details of her birthday on Instagram, including a Cuisinart she received as an early present.

A Rocky Road To Romance

As an actor, Lawrence is well-known for his high-profile roles in Boy Meets World, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Brotherly Love. He met Burke through his brother, and fellow actor, Joey Lawrence when he was a contestant on season 3 of Dancing with the Stars.

The couple started dating in February 2007, only to call it quits the following year.

"Matt is very supportive and he always wants to make sure that we keep in contact and we're always on the phone, making sure that everything's okay. We talk constantly for hours and hours," Burke previously told PEOPLE, when the two first got together.

She was open about what went wrong the first time around, too, catching up with the publication when they got back together.

"When we first dated, we were both young and immature, and I was so new to this world," said Burke.

They made their first public appearance since rekindling their romance at an event in Beverly Hills last month. Burke gushed about her simple life with Lawrence, and how normal and nice of a guy he is.

"He's so normal, considering we're in this crazy business. It's so nice to be able to come home to him and turn Netflix on and order Postmates. He's someone I definitely do see spending the rest of my life with," she said.

A More Meaningful Moment

The proposal comes just a few weeks after the dancer lost her father suddenly, in March. She took a social media break in the wake of the loss, sharing an Instagram tribute to him later on.

"Dad, if I had one more chance to have you here with me today, I would do things differently. Every day I would tell you how much I love you. I miss you so much already," she captioned the shot, which was shared on her Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts.

The diamond Lawrence used to propose is the same one her late father gave to Burke's mother, according to a rep for the star.

Lawrence reached out to her mother to acquire the rock and incorporate it into the design for Burke's ring.
