Jonathan Van Ness Reacts To Getting Emmy Nominations For ‘Queer Eye’, ‘Gay Of Thrones’

Jonathan Van Ness has the purest reaction to being nominated for two Emmys, and he wasn't able to contain his happiness over the news.

Unable To Contain His Excitement

Queer Eye's resident haircare expert whipped his locks back and forth in a frenzy of euphoria after learning he scored Emmy nods for both the hit Netflix show and Funny or Die's Gay of Thrones.

The Fab 5's long-locked emotional core knows how to work his hair, as is evident from the show's opening credits. On this occasion, however, his brothers Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk, Tan France, and Antoni Porowski were all on hand to embrace Van Ness as he teared up reacting to the news.

The heartwarming moment was caught on video by Netflix employee Jarrett Wieselman, who posted it to social media for everybody to enjoy.

"JVN's reaction to finding out #QueerEye AND #GayOfThrones scored Emmy noms this morning is too pure - and then there's Tan, Antoni, Karmo, and Bobby's reaction to his double nom," he wrote alongside the short clip.

The streaming behemoth scored a whopping 112 nominations overall. Queer Eye was represented in four categories: Outstanding Structured Reality Program, Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program, Outstanding Cinematography for a Reality Program, and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured or Competition Reality Program.

Van Ness also got a nod for hosting Gay of Thrones, a popular web series that finds him recapping the HBO super-hit with bucketloads of his trademark sass, wit, and indomitable enthusiasm. The show was nominated for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series.

The man himself took to Twitter to share how excited he was by the news.

"Oh my god. I can't even. Thank you sooo much @funnyordie @netflix I'm so grateful," he wrote.

The Fab 5 Are Feeling The Love

The Fab 5 also posed for a celebratory selfie with their team, shared to social media by Berk.

"That moment your show gets nominated for 4 Emmys!!! What an honor!!!" he wrote alongside the shot.

Brown also shared a pic of the Queer Eye hosts done up as The Incredibles, much to fans' delight, while Porowski shared how incredibly grateful and proud he was on his page.

Van Ness has had a massive year thus far. Aside from the world-conquering Queer Eye and Gay of Thrones, his podcast, Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness, rose to the top of the iTunes podcast chart, beating well-established content generators like Joe Rogan and Aaron Mahnke.

He's also a passionate advocate for human rights, voicing his views on issues of social justice, toxic masculinity, and mental health.
