Blake Shelton 'The Voice' Judge Asks for 'Our Bravest' Donations on Independence Day
The Voice's Blake Shelton showed his American spirit this Independence Day by urging his Twitter followers to help service members who have returned from duty with injuries.
The country singer urged his fans to give a donation to Our Bravest. The group, founded in 2011 as an offshoot of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, works to builds homes to accommodate soldiers, firefighters, and other men and women who have been injured serving and saving Americans.
The Building for America's Bravest creates smarthomes that cater to the needs of the injured. Accommodations include automatic doors and lighting, heating and air-conditioning that can be controlled by ipad, and layout designs that facilitate easy wheelchair use.
"As y'all watch fireworks tomorrow night, remember all those Military Heroes who have made huge sacrifices to defend our freedom. #OurBravest," Shelton tweeted on Wednesday afternoon.
On Thursday he followed up the tweet with another which explained how fans could donate to the program.
"Thank y'all for donating & making a huge difference in the lives of heroes like #RustyDunagan. To learn more visit, https://OurBravest.org/Blake ," Shelton said.
The 37-year-old performer partnered with the group sometime ago and brings his extensive fan base into his effort to help America's bravest.
