Zachary Quinto and boyfriend Jonathan Groff appear to have ended their relationship, according to omg!.

The Star Trek Into Darkness star officially came out in 2011 and was linked to Broadway actor Jonathan Groff in 2012 when they confirmed their relationship, according to Gossip Cop. The couple apparently called it quits during the spring.

Zach being away and filming was not easy on them," a source told Us Weekly. "Now he's going to be in New York with his new play [The Glass Menagerie]. They really loved each other, so it wasn't an easy split."

When Quinto announced their relationship last September, he seemed to be happy to be in a relationship after a long history of bad timing.

"I'm incredibly happy, I'm incredibly lucky," the 36-year-old told Out at the time. "I found myself in a pattern of being attracted to people who were somehow unavailable, and what I realized was that I was protecting myself because I equated the idea of connection and love with trauma and death."

Although a source tells Perez Hilton that the relationship ended on a bad note, Gossip Cop reports that the pair "remain friends" and that there is "nothing salacious" to the couple's split.

Groff is currently filming The Normal Heart for HBO and Quinto is working on the The Glass Menagerie.
