Justin Bieber Tour Bus Drug Bust with Pot Found at Canadian Border; Twitter Posts About Concerts
U.S. border authorities found marijuana on Justin Bieber's tour bus on Sunday during a search in Detroit as it tried to cross the border and enter the United States from Canada, the Detroit Free Press reported.
The 19-year-old pop singer was not on the bus at the time, according to Kenneth Hammond, chief officer and public affairs liaison for U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Detroit. Bieber was scheduled to perform that night at Joe Louis Arena in downtown Michigan, Detroit. A drug sniffing dog picked up the trace of illegal substances during a secondary inspection of the bus, according to Hammond.
Police ultimately found and seized a small amount of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia. The driver was issued a civil penalty and the bus and its passengers were released.

In March, border authorities at the same location found that a passenger on a tour bus associated with singer Rihanna had a small amount of marijuana. Rihanna was not on the bus.
Marijuana was found on Bieber's tour bus also in April 2013 when the vehicle was raided by Swedish police. A police spokesperson told a local newspaper that officials detected a "strong smell" of marijuana coming from the bus as they tried to control a huge crowd of fans outside Bieber's hotel. Police reportedly boarded the tour bus in Stockholm, as it pulled up at the arena where Bieber was performing, and authorities found a "small amount" of what appeared to be pot.

Bieber was allegedly caught smoking marijuana in photos that surfaced online in January 2013. He made no reference to the most recent drug bust on his Twitter page, instead focusing on his tour. He continues to travel as part of his Believe world tour and performs Tuesday and Wednesday in New Jersey and then in Brooklyn, N.Y.'s Barclays Stadium on Friday.
