Did Kanye West have a change of heart?

He is rumored to have been the one who slowed down the divorce proceedings between him and Kim Kardashian.

Recently, it was reported that the "Donda" rapper had instructed his attorneys to expedite his divorce proceedings following weeks of viciously attacking the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star on social media.

The former couple will square off in court on Wednesday, according to court documents.

On the day of their scheduled court hearing, the 44-year-old father of four said that he wants his divorce to be finalized as soon as possible so that he can devote his time to their four children: North, eight, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, two.

"I've requested my team to hasten the divorce of my marriage to Kim so that I can devote my whole attention to our beautiful children," Kanye said in an interview with Hollywood Unlocked.

KKW Beauty mogul Kim Kardashian West has previously expressed her wish to be legally single, prompting Kanye to express his displeasure, citing concerns that she would transfer some of their assets to her other accounts if she decides to marry another person.

It comes after Kim Kardashian stated that she is "emotionally distraught" by the Grammy-winning musician's outbursts and rants on social media that he has shifted his perspective on their divorce settlement.

According to a petition obtained by TMZ, the reality star requested a judge to proclaim her legally single, claiming that there was no hope of their marriage ever being restored after all.

She further asserts that her ex-husband is attempting to make it difficult for her to remarry on purpose.

"I have a strong urge to be divorced."

Kim also said that she had begged Kanye to keep whatever was going on in their divorce quiet, but that "he has not done so," and that she and her fiancé, Pete Davidson, have been subjected to continuous attacks and humiliation as a result.

Kanye West Fires Lawyer Day Before Court Showdown

According to reports, Kanye West has fired his divorce attorney just a day before their scheduled court appearance, which is not surprising given the circumstances.

According to TMZ, the rapper fired Chris Melcher from his crew because the two were having communication problems and were unable to move ahead as a result of the problems.

The lawyer became agitated while working with Ye, who had intended to settle everything in one day but changed his mind the next day by preparing for battle.

Fortunately, he was able to retain the services of Dr. Dre's attorney Samantha Spector, who recently assisted the music tycoon in settling his contentious divorce from Nicole Young.
