Bill Gates Reacts to Melinda French's Bombshell Interview Following Divorce

Bill Gates spoke up after Melinda French Gates opened up about their divorce in a new candid interview.

Melinda recently shared her thoughts about her divorce from Bill in an interview with CBS Mornings. Her interview served as the first discussion she appeared in after they agreed to end their 27 years of marriage.

The tech mogul, on the other hand, commented on his estranged wife's statement as he issued a public apology to Melinda.

Following the premiere of the interview, Bill sent a statement to CBS News, offering a public apology for the pain he caused Melinda and their family. The former couple share three children together - Jennifer, Phoebe, and Rory.

"I admire Melinda and everything she does to improve the lives of women and girls around the world, and I'm grateful for the work we continue to do together at our foundation," he said.

Although they had to end their relationship, Bill clarified that he still has continued commitment to their projects and remains open to working with Melinda. According to the Microsoft founder, he is still dedicated to his work at the Gates Foundation with the help of his former wife. He also pledged to continue focusing on giving people the chance to live healthy lives while reducing global injustices.

What Melinda French Gates Said

Bill's public apology came after Melinda opened up about Bill's infidelity and his ties with Jeffrey Epstein.

The 57-year-old women's advocate revealed that her former husband's infidelity was not the root cause of their split, adding how she thought they could work that out since she believes in forgiveness.

Instead of Bill's cheating issue with a staff 20 years ago, she disclosed the more serious reason that led to their split.

"It wasn't one moment or one specific thing that happened. There just came a point in time where there was enough there that I realized it just wasn't healthy, and I couldn't trust what we had," she explained.

Melinda also opened up about crying a lot for many days before feeling angry for losing the things she thought she could have forever. But after months of feeling down, she reportedly reached a new milestone in her healing journey.

This year, Melinda purportedly feels excited about her future despite not having Bill by her side anymore.
