Courteney Cox offered the hair-raising reason why she sold her home in Los Angeles.

Cox literally experienced "Scream"-like instances in her Los Angeles home that led her to sell her pad.

In a recent episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", Cox said that she encountered a ghost in her former place previously owned by Gypsy Rose Lee and Carole King.

The 57-year-old actress told Jimmy Kimmel that King visited her in the house and warned her there was a ghost in there. She, instead, shrugged her off and did not believe in what the 80-year-old said.

Courteney Cox Personally Experienced Creepy Encounter

Some of her friends who stayed in the house with her also encountered a woman who was reportedly sitting on the edge of the bed. At that time, she still could not believe their stories until a delivery man made a creepy statement about the ghost.

"I was at the house one day, not being a believer. And the doorbell rang. It was a UPS guy or something, and I opened the door, and he said, 'Do you know this house is haunted?' And I go, 'Yeah, why? Why do you think that?'" she recalled.

The delivery man then pointed at something and told her someone was standing behind her. After that incident, she convinced herself to sell the house as she also could not sleep there alone ever again.

Kimmel playfully teased Cox and called the UPS guy a terrible man for telling such a scary thing to somebody.

Her story came out just in time ahead of the release of her horror-comedy series, "Shining Vale," where she plays the role of a troubled writer living in a haunted house. The flick will arrive on Starz on Sunday, and it serves as her first series since appearing in "Cougar Town."

Cox's interview with Kimmel came after she opened up about the scary effects of facial injections. In an interview with Sunday Times, the actress said she tried chasing a more youthful appearance.

However, things seemingly started to go wrong as it ended up making her look "really strange."

"I didn't realize that, oh sh*t, I'm actually looking really strange with injections and doing stuff to my face that I would never do now," she went on.

As people started talking about her appearance, Cox decided to stop doing enhancements and accept the changes in herself instead.
