Pierre Zakrzewski became the latest media staff to be killed in Ukraine alongside Fox News' freelance consultant, Oleksandra Kuvshynova.

On Monday, an attack near the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv left two journalists dead and one correspondent injured.

The 55-year-old longtime war photojournalist died alongside the 24-year-old consultant. Meanwhile, Fox News correspondent Benjamin Hall reportedly lost part of his leg and remains hospitalized as of press time.

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott sent a memo to staff and detailed that Kyvshynova died while helping their crews navigate Kyiv. Ukrainian official Anton Gerashchenko initially confirmed that the journalists were attacked by Russian forces' mortar or artillery fire.

Following the deaths of their staff, they held off on reporting about it as they extend their condolences to the family.

"Pierre was a war zone photographer who covered nearly every international story for Fox News from Iraq to Afghanistan to Syria during his long tenure with us," Scott added, as quoted by Deadline. "Today is a heartbreaking day for Fox News Media and for all journalists risking their lives to deliver the news."

More Journalists Died, Injured During UKR-RUS War Coverage

The Fox News journalists' deaths came days after more media staff faced tragic fates in Ukraine.

On Sunday, award-winning American documentarian Brent Renaud was also killed in an attack that injured journalist Juan Arredondo.

A Sky News Team, as reported by CNN, released hair-raising footage showing the journalists getting ambushed violently. Nebytov also shared a graphic photo on Facebook showing Renaud's body, including his American passport and The New York Times' media credentials.

TIME has since issued a statement following his death, confirming that he had been staying in the region to work on a TIME Studios project that focuses on the global refugee crisis. Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for The New York Times indeed confirmed that Renaud was not on assignment in Ukraine.

"Somebody offered to take us to the other bridge, and we crossed a checkpoint, and they started shooting at us. So the driver turned around, and they kept shooting, two of us. My friend is Brent Renaud, and he's been shot and left behind. I saw him being shot in the neck, and we got split, and I got pulled," Arredondo said in a video.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has since sent a letter to Renaud's family to honor the journalist's bravery as he documented the devastation and suffering of Ukrainians amid Russian attacks.
