Maggie Fox has passed away. The "Coronation Street" star has passed away In a tragic accident, details undisclosed. What is clear is that her family and friends are distressed about the shocking turn of events. The abrupt death made it all the more painful. 

Maggie Fox's longtime comedy partner and close friend Sue Ryder claimed she and the rest of the star's family are in "shock." Sue posted the terrible news on Facebook, but the facts of the tragedy have not yet been made public. 

She wrote, "It is with great sadness that I have to announce the death of Maggie Fox, my comedy partner of 40 years and co-Artistic Director of LipService." She added, "Maggie passed away yesterday with her family around her."

Given the tragic events, the planned "Chateau Ghoul Spring Tour" has been canceled. Sue said she is very devastated by all that has happened.  

Sue recalled the first time they met while paying homage to her close friend: They said they became fast friends when both of them were students at Bristol University in the 1970s, They were part of the a "very serious" rendition of Ibsen's "The Lady for the Sea," yet the crowd couldn't stop giggling at them.

It was the beginning of their epic comedic relationship. She added that working together had been fruitful. Their  theatrical company LipService was founded in 1985 and has since produced 22 original comedies. Yet, they were able to do so despite touring and having children of their own. 

"It's notoriously difficult to present new work in theatre and we are really proud that we managed to do so and to build an audience for it," Sue proudly said. "We are still all in a state of shock as this was very sudden following an accident," she added once more. 

Things will naturally change for the company they put up. Sue said plans will be announced as they are made.  

Maggie played two roles in "Coronation Street" over her 40-year career. First as Ruth Audsley in 2001. The Croppers' fled with their foster boy Wayne Hayes, and Ruth became involved. 

Later, in 2010, she was cast in the role of Judge Travers. 

Kylie Turner and Becky McDonald were arguing about custody of Kylie's kid, Max, in front of a judge - played by Maggie Fox.
