If you've already seen The Batman (or you're like me, and you've seen it more than once), you probably already know that it was an early version of the Joker that we saw in one of the final scenes in the film, making friends with the Riddler at Arkham.

If you were really into the film and the Batman lore in general, you probably also already know that the scene wasn't meant to foreshadow a pre-planned upcoming movie; rather, it was originally part of a pair of scenes involving the infamous character, the first of which was cut for time.

Director Matt Reeves has previously revealed that the deleted scene was one in which Robert Pattinson's Batman comes to visit the Joker in his cell, and the Joker hints to it being their anniversary - meaning the anniversary of the day Batman finally captured him. This establishes that the Joker - played by Barry Keoghan - and Batman have already met and battled it out once before we ever even meet him.

As Reeves told Vanity Fair:

"This guy says, 'It's almost our anniversary, isn't it?'...You realize that they have a relationship, and that this guy obviously did something, and Batman somehow got him into Arkham."

As they talk, Batman tells Joker he wants to know how Riddler thinks. Joker's reply, as relayed by Reeves: "What do you mean, you want to know how he thinks? You guys think the same."

In the newly released scene, we get even more hints as to the relationship between these two characters, and we can already see his ability to get under Bruce's skin. This type of relationship could prove incredibly interesting in a later film.

The scene was released on rataalada.com, the website that the Riddler used in the movie - which has been host to a number of quizlike promotions since the movie's release. The site asks you to solve three riddles before you can view the clip - but if you aren't really a riddle person, you can also watch it here:
