Johnny Depp proved that he could still be loved by everyone without doing anything at all.

Depp has been gearing up ahead of his defamation trial against Amber Heard this year. But before it happens, the actor received the best support from Deppheads online.

Nearly two years since Depp created his Instagram account, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor officially reached the 12 million mark on the social media platform.

The actor effortlessly got the feat even when he is not that active on Instagram. His last post was on February 12, featuring a black and white photo of people in Minamata taken by Larry D. Horricks after the mercury poisoning in the area.

"In 2019, just before the pandemic struck, we made a film about giving a voice to those that have none. Such a theme feels more important today than ever with all love and respect to the strong, beautiful and brave people of Minamata. Their story is out in U.S. theaters today," he wrote in the caption.

Depp famously played the lead role in the film that led him to earn the San Sebastian Film Festival's highest honorary award, hailing the actor as "one of contemporary cinema's most talented and versatile actors" for remarkably playing "almost always misfits."

The Karlovy Vary Film Festival in the Czech Republic also paid tribute to Depp's career and legacy after describing him as an icon of contemporary cinema.

Johnny Depp Fails Again

Despite the growing number of his supporters, Depp also lost recently before his defamation trial began.

A judge ruled that the "Aquaman" actress could argue to a jury that she should be protected from Depp's case about the 2018 op-ed she wrote. Depp's lawyers immediately condemned the ruling and said that Heard could not invoke a Virginia law in her defense.

According to Benjamin Chew, the law - which is an anti-SLAPP provision (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) - is not fit to be part of Depp and Heard's disputes.

Although it ruled against the "Fantastic Beasts" actor, it does not mean Heard already earned immunity for what she wrote. Instead, she can feely make it a part of her defense.

The actress, in return, filed a counterclaim for defamation against her ex-husband due to the lawyers' statements about her.

The development came after Heard requested multiple times that the defamation suit against her be dismissed after the other UK judgment that suggested that Depp is an abuser.
