The 67-year-old star reportedly had "cognitive problems," and everyone on set knew that he was suffering from something.

"Everybody knew, the cast and crew. His family has stepped in, they moved in to take care of him," the source added.

While working on the movie, the insider said Willis was using earpieces to hear things and for the crew to feed him his lines for a specific scene before noting that they had a hard time "having him on screen."

His cognitive issues were so bad that the production had to use a body double at times, not just for action shots but also for maximizing his screen time.

In addition, the production crew made a big move by moving the set near to where he was living, but it was evident that he was having trouble and couldn't act anymore.

What Is Aphasia?

According to Mayo Clinic, Aphasia is a medical condition that makes a person have a hard time communicating.

It could also affect the patient's ability to write, understand language, and speak.

The condition commonly happens after a stroke or suffering from a head injury. In some cases, it could occur gradually from a slow-growing brain tumor.
