Celebrity chefs not only knows their way around the kitchen, but also their way around showbiz. They're not just a character when whipping up their astounding dishes - they're also precious personalities, on televisions or in books!

Check out our top 10 celebrity chefs. Since we cannot choose, we listed these in no particular order.

Julia Child

It was Julia Child who started the television cooking obsession that has helped to perpetuate today's food-centered networks and culinary personalities. It's just impossible not to include her. We'd be doing you a disservice by not talking about Child as one of the top celebrity chefs.

The 1961 release of "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" by Child, who died in 2004, made her an unlikely celebrity chef. As a result of the book, she became an international superstar and set the ground for future celebrity chefs. We might never see her do her famous recipes live, but we can certainly try them at home. That is, if you're craving for some Bourguignon or Lobster Thermidor.

After her death, Child's fame continued to grow with the release of the blockbuster film "Julie & Julia." Watch the trailer below.

Gordon Ramsay

Naturally, we would have Gordon Ramsay in our list. Some people love him, some people love him. Like any dish - he's a taste you must acquire.

Many chefs would be overjoyed if they had one or two popular restaurants or books to their names. Ramsay have all of these and some. He takes his famous chef lifestyle to a whole new level.

A native of Scotland and England, Ramsay has opened a number of popular restaurants, including the appropriately named Gordon Ramsay and Petrus. "Kitchen Nightmares" and "Hell's Kitchen" are just two examples of Ramsay's many television roles.

He also presented and executively produced MasterChef. An attestment to his celebrity status, he appeared on the The Simpsons" episode titled "The Food Wife," as himself in cartoon form. Chefs who have appeared in cartoons are truly famous, there's no denying that.

Bobby Flay

Bobby Flay is also notable.

Flay has had a long and distinguished television career, having debuted in 1994 on the Food Network. Currently, he is best recognized for his appearances on "Iron Chef America" and "The Next Food Network Star," both of which he hosts.

Bobby's Burger Palace is a prominent chain of burger restaurants owned by celebrity chef Bobby Flay, best known for his high-end restaurants like New York City's Mesa Grill.

Nigella Lawson

There's no skipping Nigella Lawson.

Food Network's savvy execs know precisely what they're doing, and they're reaping the rewards. Nigella Lawson, a well-known British chef, was hired as a TV host to appeal to men's interests in both delicious food and attractive women. The foreign accent helps, too.

In addition to appearing on Style Network, Cuisine Channel, and E!, Lawson is the author of eight cookbooks about cooking that have been published in more than 60 countries. Because she never went to culinary school, Lawson's achievement is all the more remarkable. It's all natural, all God-given talent.

Anthony Bourdain

Of course, this list would be incomplete without Anthony Bourdain. Noted for his sarcastic wit and pure honesty, Bourdain is a master French chef who is also known for his openness about his views for fellow celebrity chef Rachael Ray. His unfortunate passing, and the sheer number of people who was saddened, is evidenciary of his fame.

While Bourdain is known for hosting the Travel Channel's "No Reservations" and "The Layover" shows, he loves to travel the world, sampling and delivering his professional judgment on a wide variety of international "delicacies" that would scare the rest of us.

Unlike escargot, which many people find unappetizing, these unique delicacies are a refreshing change of pace. He has tried everything from raw seal eyeball to fermented shark to warthog rectum. Yes, you read that correctly. The fact that he tried all of these dishes doesn't mean he liked them, but at least he tried them!

Tom Colicchio

Tom Colicchio should not be forgotten too. As the host of Bravo's "Top Chef," Colicchio established himself as a restaurateur with the opening of Gramercy Tavern in New York City.

After that, he went on to develop the Craft family of restaurants, which now have locations around the country. When it comes to his cooking, Colicchio is famed for his straightforward, no-frills technique.

Cooking in one of Colicchio's Craft restaurants is like eating at home, with a focus on fresh, whole ingredients prepared simply and delivered family-style, with some flair of course.

Paula Deen

Females can be famed celebrity chefs too. Paula Deen is one!

Because of her distinctive southern accent and outgoing demeanor, Paula Deen has made a name for herself in a male-dominated field by becoming one of the most popular female celebrity chefs. Check her out below.

When Deen decided to start a catering business, she dubbed it The Bag Lady and had her sons deliver the meals. Finally, the Lady and Sons restaurant was opened in Savannah, Georgia on December 1, 1996 as a result of this.

It wasn't until Deen's cookbook sold 70,000 copies in a single day on QVC that she became a household name, as she was featured on an episode of Oprah about women who launched companies in their homes.

Mario Batali

Mario Batali's reluctance to be a famous chef is precisely the reason why he's one.

In spite of Mario Batali's well-deserved fame as a charismatic television host and creator of wonderful Italian fare, he wasn't always interested in becoming a chef. With the goal of becoming a banker in Spain in mind, Batali studied Spanish theater and business management at Rutgers University. He began as a dishwasher at Stuff Yer Face in New Jersey before quickly rising to the position of pizza maker. During this time, he discovered his passion for the culinary arts.

After graduating from the London School of the Cordon Bleu, he worked as a chef in a small Italian town for three years, during which time he developed a love for the cuisine. Traditional Italian recipes have been modernized by Batali, who uses locally sourced, seasonally appropriate ingredients in his creations. The popularity of Babbo, his original restaurant in Greenwich Village, has led to numerous more restaurants, television appearances, cookbooks, and a cookware line, among other things.

Emeril Lagasse

Emeril Lagasse is unquestionably one of the biggest names in the food industry. Among his kingdom's many ventures are restaurants, cookbooks, television shows and other consumer products, as well as a humanitarian foundation. As a result of his hard work and perseverance, Lagasse's well-branded enterprise is believed to be worth more than $70 million.

He learnt to make bread and pastries while working in a Portuguese bakery in his homeland of New England as a teenager. He enrolled in Johnson & Wales University's culinary program and was hired as executive chef at the Commander's Palace restaurant in New Orleans at the age of 23.

Jamie Oliver

Jamie Oliver is one of the most well-known British chefs, who made a name for himself even outside of UK. As a best-selling cookbook author, he has cooked for the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and he was granted an MBE in 2003. He has since hosted a number of culinary television programmes, including "The Naked Chef."

The Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group was born out of his charisma and mastery of Italian comfort food. Over 40 outlets were once owned by the group, but it went bankrupt in 2018 with little hope of recouping money. However, he continues to host cookery shows and appear on other television series, despite the failure of his previous business enterprise.
