Hailey Bieber is putting herself first despite her success in the modeling industry.

Long before she became Mrs. Bieber, the name "Hailey Baldwin" rose to fame in the fashion runway and modeling industry. However, she suddenly stepped back from a number of aspects of the industry due to an important reason.

Bieber recently graced the cover of Allure's May issue and revealed the real reason why she no longer appears in runway fashion.

Per the model, she had a bad experience with a casting director that led her to step back for a moment.

"He said something to my agent that just shook my confidence when it came to the runway. I don't want to feel bad about myself in this space because I feel really good about the other work that I do. So why would I even put myself in a position to feel small?" she said, as quoted by People.

Indeed, she has already received praises from the brands she worked for, including Ralph Lauren, Guess, and Tommy Hilfiger.

For now, she keeps herself busy after introducing her skincare line, Rhode, to the public before its June launch. She first confirmed her desire to have that kind of business line through a video on her YouTube channel.

During the same interview, she shared how finding balance in her modeling career and being an entrepreneur is important and what inspired her to create her business.

Bieber explained that she could remember her mother getting her out of the bath and then pouring hydration all over her body to keep her skin healthy. The practice reportedly started with her grandmother, who taught her mother what she learned.

Although she already knows the dos and don'ts in the skincare routine and the products' formulas, she reportedly spent more time in market testing.

"I found that the most tried-and-true stuff were the solidly formulated products that were affordable, where I could tell people kept on going back to, and that's what I kept going back to as well. The initial launch focuses on maintaining the skin's moisture barrier. I've given it to a lot of different makeup artists to try on their clients and I've gotten really good feedback on it," she said.

Instead of competing with other celebrity beauty lines, Bieber sees the business as a team effort to know what suits people.
