Jojo Siwa Reveals the Reason Why She’s Absent From Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards
The annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards was held in Santa Monica, California over the weekend, and many fans were confused because Jojo Siwa was not in attendance despite going to the event almost every year; what happened?
Taking to her Instagram account, the "Dance Moms" star explained why she didn't attend the event after a number of fans questioned her absence.
"A lot of you have been asking me why I'm not at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards tonight, and the answer is very simple, I wasn't invited," the dancer said in the 14-second long video.
Siwa was not invited to the event despite being nominated for the Favorite Social Music Star category.
"I'm not sure why, but I just didn't get an invite," the TV star added. (via ET Online)
To further explain the situation, Siwa revealed in the caption that she didn't want anyone to think that it was her choice not to go, she simply never got an invitation.
At the time of this writing, Nickelodeon has not issued any statement as to why Siwa was left out of the event.
Not the First Time Jojo Siwa Spoke Out About Nickelodeon
This isn't the first time Siwa expressed her true feelings for Nickelodeon as she called out the media giant in September, saying they prevented her from performing specific songs from her movie, "The J Team," on her "Jojo Siwa D.R.E.A.M. The Tour."
Taking to Twitter, the dancer revealed her tour will begin in January and her movie musical was just released with six brand new songs. However, Nickelodeon told her she was not allowed to add and perform tracks from the movie.

"These are MY songs, MY voice, MY writing. Does this seem fair???" There is no reason that this music should not be included," she added.
Jojo Siwa Debuts New Haircut
The 18-year-old TV star's absence from the awards show comes days after sharing a new hairstyle on Instagram.
Siwa shared footage of herself in the middle of getting a dramatic haircut, captioning the post, "I did something today."
In a photo, fans were shocked to see how much hair she had chopped off.
The reality star is popularly known for her quirky outfits, energetic presence, and her iconic high ponytail often accessorized with colorful bows.
