A body language expert recently claimed that Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are both "playing characters" in the court.

A few days before the defamation trial resumes, experts weighed in on the recent events that happened inside the court. One body language expert took her time to share what she found out about Heard and Depp's body language.

In an interview with Australia's 7NEWS, body language expert Dr. Louise Mahler disclosed that the estranged couple has been playing characters during the trial. However, they are doing their actions in different ways.

"They're both actors and Johnny Depp has chosen a simpler act. So his act is just consistent and slow. And he's able to hold that for week after week after week. Whereas her emotive act is harder to maintain. Who knows if she's just exhausted, bored, whatever, but it doesn't come across well," she said, as quoted by OK! Magazine.

Dr. Mahler particularly focused on the "Aquaman" actress, highlighting the tension in her jaw. She tagged Heard's way of recollecting the situations as something "very manufactured." She went on to say that her hyperventilating moments are not authentic.

Instead, those are said to be part of the actress and her team's calculated strategy.

As for the reason why she thinks Heard is just acting, the expert pointed out that if the actress has genuine emotion, she would see the trigger in her mind then a breath would follow.

However, Heard reputedly performed high breaths in order to bring herself to tears since it puts pressure on a person's throat.

Dr. Mahler also took her time to discuss the issues surrounding Heard's actions - from her tearless crying to her alleged sniffing of drugs.

According to the body language expert, she is also confused by how the actress used her tissue.

"One would normally blow one's nose because there's moisture, but she actually puts the hankie up and breathes in," she explained. "Some people have said she's breathing in a substance or something. I don't know about that, but that would be a very odd thing to do."

Meanwhile, Heard's monotone voice is also said to be "odd" since it does not suit the seriousness of the situation. Dr. Mahler noted that whenever the actress got emotional, her voice recovered too quickly.

She also found no tears coming out of Heard's eyes.
