The world of film is still mourning the death of Ray Liotta, and Kevin Costner is the most recent celebrity who paid tribute to the late actor through an online post. He also revealed a shocking trivia from the movie they worked on decades ago.

Taking to his official Twitter account, the 67-year-old actor shared a heartwarming tribute, writing, "Devastated to hear the news of Ray Liotta's passing, while he leaves an incredible legacy, he'll always be 'Shoeless Joe Jackson' in my heart."

Costner also shared a short clip from the 1989 movie "Field of Dreams," which shows him as Ray Kinsella and the late actor as Shoeless Joe Jackson.

They were practicing baseball in the scene when the first shot almost hit Costner, but he was able to dodge the ball.

The second shot goes past him and falls into a field.

In the tweet, he wrote, "What happened that moment in the film was real," revealing that the shots were not planned and his reaction was real while they were shooting the scene.

"God gave us that stunt. Now God has Ray," he concluded.

Martin Scorsese Pays Tribute to Ray Liotta

Kevin Costner's latest tribute comes a day after good pal Martin Scorsese shared an emotional tribute to People Magazine, saying he was shocked by the news and "devastated" by Liotta's death.

The famed director added that his friend was "uniquely gifted, so adventurous, so courageous as an actor."

Concluding his tribute, Scorsese said the late actor amazed him, and he'll always be proud of the project they did together in the past.

Ray Liotta's Shocking Death

Ray Liotta passed away at the age of 67 in the Dominican Republic. His publicist, Jennifer Allen, first confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter.

The actor died on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning. The actual time of his death is still unclear as he reportedly died in his sleep.

The "Goodfellas" star was in the country shooting a new movie titled "Dangerous Waters."

As of this writing, there is still no information if another actor will be replacing him in the movie or if it will be canceled.

An insider clarified that there was no foul play involved in his death.
