Prime Video is gearing up for summer with the release of the new teaser trailer for A League of Their Own the series.

The show is based on the popular 1992 Penny Marshall film about the Rockford Peaches, which starred Geena Davis, Tom Hanks, Rosie O'Donnell, and Madonna, about an all women's baseball league which was created during World War II in order to keep the sport going while the boys were away in the military. This time around the show boasts a deeper look into the social issues.

The plot synopsis is thus:

"A League of Their Own evokes the joyful spirit of Penny Marshall's beloved classic, while widening the lens to tell the story of an entire generation of women who dreamed of playing professional baseball. The show takes a deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of a whole new ensemble of characters as they carve their own paths towards the field, both in the League and outside of it."

Now starring co-creator and executive producer Abbi Jacobson, Chanté Adams, Nick Offerman, D'Arcy Carden, just to name a few, the series looks to have all of the fun and fierceness of the original with a more modern sensibility.
