Black Adam fans are getting plenty of treats in the lead up to the film's release on October 21, 2022. Earlier today, DC Comics began unveiling the cover art of a four-issue series about Black Adam, that ties in to the Dwayne Johnson film.

Each cover art that's been revealed features a member of the Justice Society: a group of heroes comprising Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and a masked Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher.

Though these heroes may not be as high-profile as the Justice League, DC Comics is hoping the series will help raise public awareness of this unique group.

Interestingly, Cavan Scott, who worked on Lucasfilm's Star Wars: The High Republic initiative, wrote the four-issue series, while the art is by a collection of artists.

The first issue of the series will become available on July 5th, and features Hawkman, a fascinating character, who is usually the reincarnation of the ancient Egyptian prince Khufu. His backstory is often cited as the most confusing out of any in DC Comics, so it will be interesting to see which iteration of the character makes it to the Black Adam film and this new comic series.

We know that actor Aldis Hodge is super excited about it!

According to the Hollywood Reporter:

"In addition to the main story featuring its title hero, each issue will have a backup story centering on Teth-Adam, the man who will become Black Adam. Those stories will be from writer Bryan Q. Miller, artist Marco Santucci, colorist Mike Atiyeh and letterer Rob Leigh."

An issue will be released each month before the film drops in October.

The Black Adam film tie-in comics aren't the first ones DC Comics has released. Previously, the publisher had also released movie tie-in comics featuring the actors' likenesses for The Suicide Squad and Aquaman.

Black Adam releases only in theaters starting October 21, 2022.
