It seems like the great word-of-mouth is serving A24 film Everything Everywhere All At Once well.

Directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, the surprise breakout hit sci-fi family martial arts film has now beaten out Ari Aster's Hereditary as A24's highest grossing film worldwide. The film has earned $80.9M so far, and is still in its theatrical run.

Starring Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu, and Jamie Lee Curtis, Everything Everywhere has earned 76% of its box office in the U.S. and Canada, according to Deadline. They reported:

"the pic has seen its best numbers abroad in the United Kingdom ($5M, solely distributed there by A24), Australia ($3.8M), Taiwan ($2.3M), Russia and CIS territories ($2.2M), Hong Kong ($1.4M), Germany ($1.1M) and Singapore ($775K)."

Wildly inventive, Everything Everywhere All At Once centers on Yeoh's Evelyn Wang, a Chinese American laundromat owner being audited by a dour woman working for the IRS, named Deirdre Beaubeirdre - played to perfection by Curtis.

One day, Evelyn learns of the existence of the multiverse from the Alpha-verse's version of her husband, Waymond Wang - played by a brilliant and emotive Quan.

Alpha Waymond tells Evelyn that she must tap into her many skills using the multiverse to defeat a great evil called Jobu Tupaki - who takes the form of her daughter, Hsu's Joy.

Everything Everywhere All At Once is notable for being an unexpected hit - really somewhat of a phenomenon - due to its smaller budget and low-key marketing.

Through strong word-of-mouth, the film has rapidly gained a fan following. Often being called one of the best cinematic experiences in recent years, its originality and emotionally resonant story sets it apart.
