The title for the sequel to Knives Out 2 has been officially announced.

Knives Outthe quirky comedy-mystery that took the world by storm, has been gearing up for a sequel. The sequel will again star Daniel Craig in the iconic role of Detective Benoit Blanc. Up until recently the title for the sequel has been unknown. Today, however, it has been officially announced. Fans of the original film can start counting down the days until the film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery comes to theatres.

The news was announced on Twitter by Rian Johnson, the director of the original and soon to be sequel film. He announced it through a well-designed video that slowly reveals the title.

After the tweet, he discussed his inspirations for the films - mainly that which was garnered from Agatha Christie.

"When I made Knives Out, that's what excited me about the prospect of making more mysteries with Daniel as Benoit Blanc - to emulate Christie and have every film be like a whole new book, with its own tone, ambition, reason for being... and (ta dah) title. It wasn't just settings or murder methods, she was constantly stretching the genre conceptually.

"Under the umbrella of the whodunnit she wrote spy thrillers, proto-slasher horrors, serial killer hunts, gothic romances, psychological character studies, glam travelogues. Something I love about Agatha Christie is how she never tread water creatively. I think there's a misperception that her books use the same formula over and over, but fans know the opposite is true."

We will share more news about Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery as it comes out.
