'Matilda the Musical' Movie Starring Emma Thompson Announces Release Date!
The Matilda The Musical movie has officially announced its release date.
Matilda is a classic. Every generation has their own connection to the young, smart, magically equipped girl. Since the time the book by Roald Dahl was written, it seems that every possible iteration of the show has been made. A film was created in 1996 which broadened the audience of the show. Then, in 2010, Matilda the Musical was created for the stage.
The realm of the musical was just what this character needed to take it to new heights. Now, in 2022, the musical is heading back to the movie screen. Matilda the Musical will be released in movie form, and the release date of this phenomenal show has just been announced.
Matilda the Musical movie will premiere at the ever iconic BFI London Film Festival. It's world premiere will be on October 5th. The movie will screen at the Southbank Centre in the Royal Festival Hall. After this premiere at the 66th annual BFI London Film Festival, the movie will spread all over the world.
It will open to the public theatrically in the UK on December 2nd. Then, it will start streaming on Netflix presumably later on in December or in early January. The Netflix release date has not yet been officially announced.
