Many fans still can't get over the chaotic and emotional ending of "Stranger Things" season 4, volume 2, and many are now looking forward to the fifth season to end all of this madness and find out the future of Hawkins.

WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD

Speaking to Collider, creators Matt and Ross Duffer, popularly known as the Duffer Brothers, revealed a possible timeline of when the fifth season will arrive.

Although the producer siblings didn't explicitly share an exact date, they shared a specific time frame for fans not to get bored of waiting.

Speaking about a target release date, Matt said "it depends" on who fans will ask because they're still figuring things out.

If it's the point of view of their AD and line producers, they wanted more time to film and shoot. If it's the post-production team who handles all the editing and visual effects, they wanted more time to process all things.

"It's going to be a big discussion. How long does everybody get? Here's the thing, the more you shorten production, the more you shorten post-production, the more things get compromised," he added. (via Comicbook)

Matt then explained that the release date is a balance between how much they're willing to "compromise" to drop the show sooner or is it more important to "give everybody the time that they need to get this right."

Despite still in the blur regarding the timeframe, Matt is confident that he's "never super worried."

Speaking about the last two volumes of season 4, the creators said they never intended to take a very long break, but COVID-19 halted their production plans.

However, Matt said they wanted to release it as fast as possible without compromising its quality.

"Ross and I will always favor quality, I think. At the end of the day, I think it's better that it's good than that it comes out quickly," he added.

Although the brothers did not confirm that the final season will be released after two years, David Harbour, who plays the role of Hopper, revealed earlier this month that production would focus on writing the project throughout 2022.

That said, filming could start as early as 2023, and the final season could drop around 2024.

As of this writing, the official plot of season 5 has not been announced yet.
