Enstarz was recently able to sit down and have a quick zoom chat with actress Makena Taylor, who just starred as high schooler Sadie in the pandemic thriller film Last The Night.

In Last The Night, burnt-out high school teacher Austin Dunbar is at the end of his rope after losing his wife and his daughter. Between the drinking and the isolation of the pandemic, he's beginning to lose it - and when he accidentally overhears his students talking about him over a Zoom call they didn't realize he was in, he finally snaps, and swears his revenge.

And when he hears that the students are going to sneak into the abandoned school that night, he knows just how to get it.

Thankfully, our Zoom call went much better than the one in the film. Brian Austin Green is terrifying as Dunbar, and Makena can confirm that it was just as scary being chased around by him on set.

"We were filming at a high school - we were doing night shoots, so the hallways were really long and dark, and you didn't really know the area...so there were moments where I would look around and kind of just make sure everything was good.

"And [Brian Austin Green] got really into the character. There was one scene where we were all standing in the hallway, and we all felt actually scared, I think, cause of how great Brian is at acting, so it felt very real. It was very scary."

It's a testament to his acting that he was able to legitimately scare her, because Makena Taylor is no stranger to acting in high-intensity films: Her two most recent credits before this include One and the Same, a tale of revenge that traverses space and time, and Skyfire, a movie about an island set in the shadow of an erupting volcano.

When we asked what her favorite part of playing characters under duress was, she said:

"I love playing those characters that are fighting for their lives, or just really afraid, who have to come through this inner battle in order to survive. That's the best part. You know, sometimes we don't feel very strong, and then you get surprised by your own self and just kinda pull out this inner strength that you didn't know you had."

We'll get to see more of that inner strength soon, because Taylor is currently filming for a new movie called Replica - also starring actor Mickey Rourke.
