'Million Dollar Listing' Star Matt Altman Breaks Silence on Wife's Arrest For Domestic Violence
Reality Star Matt Altman shares their side of the story after his wife, Johanna Altman, was charged and arrested for Felony domestic violence.
The "Million Dollar Listing" star's wife was released from the San Fernando Valley jail a day after the arrest after posting a bond of $50,000, according to an LAPD spokesperson.
Matt told Page Six that the incident may have resulted from a death in the family, as his wife's father had recently died due to COVID-19.
"The loss of my wife's father due to COVID-19 has been absolutely devastating to her and our entire family," Matt Altman explained. "We have all been struggling with this loss and have been going through a tough time."
Despite the current charges against Johanna, her husband posted a photo on Instagram of their family of five celebrating their fifth anniversary over the weekend.
Shortly after, Johanna shared her own Instagram post as a tribute to their anniversary, stating that she and her husband were "only getting stronger." "Ups and downs ain't gonna stop anything. Love you so much," Johanna captioned.
"The Altman Brothers team" co-founder told Page Six that they are currently struggling with the death of his wife's father and have been going through a tough time over the past months.
"We have never been more in love and connected from this tragedy," he said. " We ask everyone to respect our privacy."
No details involving the alleged domestic abuse have been disclosed. Felony domestic violence can involve bodily injury or threats of violence using a deadly weapon, with convictions leading to sentences of up to four years in prison.
Since 2008, Matt has flourished tremendously in his professional life as he and his brother Josh are the sole proprietors of real estate company The Altman Brothers Team, exceeding 5 Billion dollars in sales volume. He also continues to win viewers' hearts with his co-star, Josh, on the hit Bravo TV real estate reality series, "Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles".
Matt and Johanna have been married since August 2017, and share 4 year old twins Ashton and London, along with 3 year old son Hudson.
