Woody Allen has been working in Hollywood for decades now and it appears that he's ready to leave his profession behind for good as he announced his retirement; what would be his final project ever?

According to ET Online, the renowned movie personality revealed that he would be working on his 50th movie which will serve the last on his long list of credits.

Speaking to La Vanguardia, Allen's final film titled "Wasp 22" is set to begin shooting in Europe later this year. He told the outlet that, he shouldn't make more movies but rather focus on writing.

"My idea, in principle, is not to make more movies and focus on writing," he revealed.

The "Hannah and Her Sisters" writer became one of the legends in the field of filmmaking as he already snagged a whopping 12 Academy Awards throughout his life.

A few months ago, he hinted at his retirement during an Instagram live where he revealed that he was planning to create "one or two more" movies.

As of this writing, there are no further details regarding "Wasp 22."

Woody Allen spent his early days in Brooklyn, New York, as he was born in the city in 1935. He first used his talent in writing and became a joke writer for a local paper.

By the age of 15, he was already earning $200 per week because of his job. However, it didn't take long for him to change careers and move on to writing and performing stand-up comedy after being convinced by his agents Charles Joffe and Jack Rollins. (via IMDb)

Since it was his first time facing a live audience with his material, he was nervous, but he managed to overcome it.

He later received big opportunities in the industry like becoming a writer for the 1965 movie "What's New Pussycat starring Warren Beatty.

Ever since, he dominated Hollywood by releasing movies like "Annie Hall," "Manhattan," "Bananas," "Afraid to Ask," "Love and Death," "Crimes and Misdemeanors" and many more.

Despite the big success he amassed, he was also involved in a controversy after his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow and her mom Mia Farrow claimed that the actor sexually abused her when she was 7 years old.

The allegations were tackled in the 2021 documentary series "Allen v. Farrow." The filmmaker had already denied the accusations against him.
