Actress Olivia Cooke reveals her struggles before starring in the hit HBO series, "House of the Dragon".

The 28-year-old actress plays Queen Alicent Hightower, the second wife of King Viserys I Targaryen. Olivia Cooke's acting career dates back to 2012 when she starred in the television drama series, "Blackout".

She, later on, rose to prominence for her role as Emma Decody in A&E network's contemporary "Psycho" prequel, "Bates Motel". In a recent interview with the Observer, the "House of the Dragon" star recalls her personal struggles while filming for the horror drama television series.

"I'm so grateful for that job, but I had a really tough time on it," Cooke expressed, recalling her time portraying Emma Decody in the series. "The way the schedule worked, we all had different storylines, so a lot of my time was spent in this apartment in Vancouver, working once every two weeks."

Additionally, the 29-year-old actress stated that "32 is the new 22", as she had experienced her quarter-life crisis during her early 20s, which she would not willingly go back to.

'Full Mental Breakdown' Amidst Homesickness

Additionally, the "Ready Player One" actress alludes to homesickness as a part of her mental struggles while filming for "Bates Motel". Born in Greater Manchester, England, Cooke's role as Emma Decody was her first American role after hiring an agent in Los Angeles.

"It was a big old lovely cocktail: being homesick and not knowing it, having not stopped since I was 18, being on my own for large swathes of time," she says of her "full mental breakdown." "It was bad, bad. Awful, actually."

Now Better as a 'House of the Dragon' Star

Now starring as Alicent Hightower on HBO's television series, "House of the Dragon", Cooke settled into what she calls a "sweet spot" these days as she was able to move back into London.

The fantasy series was all shot on Warner Brothers' brand-new digital production stage located in Watford, a town in England.

The "House of the dragon" first season has released six out of its ten episodes for the first season. Additionally, the prequel series has been renewed by HBO for a second season following its successful premiere, which has garnered more than 20 million viewers.
