Prince Harry and Meghan Markle began their house hunting as they planned to leave their Montecito home.

The Sussexes are yet to find a permanent home as new concerns arose in the area where they currently reside. In fact, multiple media outlets claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan are ready to give up their $14 million mansion to have a new home in Hope Ranch, California.

The Santa Barbara News-Press first confirmed the rumors about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's current plan, saying that they want to have a whopping $22 million estate in the Hope Ranch community instead due to the increase in crime rates in the area.

At the same time, the couple reportedly thought the mansion no longer accommodates the family-of-four properly anymore. The sources, however, did not reveal whether the place is too large or too small for the couple and their two children.

The news outlet said they probably purchased a unit already, but Daily Mail could not confirm whether Prince Harry and Meghan already acquired property as the report claimed.

It also remains unknown whether it is a bigger or a smaller mansion.

Hope Ranch in Santa Barbara, California, has a country club, golf club, tennis court, and horseback riding trails. Ten percent of the people in the community have their own horses.

Why Do Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Want To Leave Montecito?

Prince Harry and Meghan made the decision after the news about an "out-of-the-area theft gang" adding Montecito as one of its targets.

Currently, the community has A-listers in the area, including Katy Perry, Ellen DeGeneres, Adam Levine, and Jennifer Aniston.

Barbara County undersheriff Craig Bonner said, per Radar Online, "We've had some problems with professional burglars coming into the Montecito community. We want these cameras up and running as quickly as possible to capture these folks as they come and go from the area."

Bonner added that the cameras' content would be deleted every 30 days unless an investigation that needs the footage occurs.

Prince Harry and Meghan moved to Montecito in June 2020 in hopes of having quiet lives and privacy. The estate has nine bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, a spa, an outdoor pool, and a tennis court.
