Kate Middleton has made the ultimate sacrifice for the royal family, even if it means never seeing Queen Elizabeth II alive again.

According to OK magazine, the Princess of Wales agreed to stay at home and not fly to Scotland in order to prevent Meghan Markle and Prince Harry from visiting the Queen on her deathbed.

When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's spokesman announced that they would be visiting Balmoral jointly, pandemonium ensued within the palace.

Their insider revealed that it was agreed that Kate would stay at home in Windsor as a compromise. This would be used to persuade Prince Harry not to bring his bride to visit the Queen.

"Harry would have exploded if Kate had been invited and Meghan wasn't."

As previously reported by the publication, the Duchess of Cambridge and Cornwall elected to remain in England to care for her and Prince William's three children, Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four.

According to a Kensington Palace spokesman, Kate was with her three children on the first full day of their new school.

Following a brief preview on Wednesday, Sept. 7, the Cambridge and Cornwall kids spent their first full day at Lambrook School on Sept. 8.

Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace issued a statement on Queen Elizabeth II's health, prompting numerous royal family members to abandon their jobs and hurry to the late monarch's side.

However, shortly after the Sussexes' publicist said that they would visit the ill monarch, it was revealed that Meghan would no longer accompany her husband and would instead remain in England.

Unfortunately, Prince Harry was unable to reach in time to bid his grandmother farewell before she died.

The death of Queen Elizabeth II was announced at 6:30 p.m., but his jet did not arrive in Scotland until 15 minutes later, according to reports.

According to a verified statement, the previous monarch died "peacefully" that afternoon in Balmoral, and King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla remained there that evening. Nonetheless, they will go to London the next day to make funeral arrangements.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, along with other senior members of the royal family, were front and center during the Queen's funeral.

They joined King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Zara Tindall, Philip Tindall, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
