Meghan Markle raised eyebrows after revealing what her son, 4-year-old Archie, wanted for a camera.

The Duchess of Sussex joined David Oyelowo and director Misan Harriman in a private residence in Montecito for an event hosted by Netflix on Nov. 15. She moderated a special screening for the streaming giant's new short film "The After." At the event, Markle mentioned how Harriman, a photographer, inspired her and Prince Harry's son to do photography.

"Our four-and-a-half-year-old son, Misan was showing him how to do photography the last time he was with us, and I bought Archie a camera. And he said, 'But it's not a Leica like Misan's," Markle said, prompting the audience to laugh.

However, several netizens were not convinced by what Markle shared. One shared a clip of the conversation on X, formerly Twitter, and called out Markle for allegedly lying. "Meghan Markle [is] lying about Archifical wanting a 'Leica Camera,'" the caption read.

Many netizens agreed. According to them, kids like Archie's age have no idea about cameras and are not particular about brands.

"Yep. 4 year olds don't care about brands. Not even Stormi Jenner. They just don't," one commented. "I didn't catch that about Misan, but wow, he reacts. He knows she is lying about that. He has kids. 4 year olds don't care about Leica cameras."

"Lots of adults don't even know what a Leica is, so I highly suspect a 4-year-old doesn't. Also, looking at her body language, she's very uncomfortable, so I suspect it's a lie. I guess she fancies one and hopes someone will just send her one for the PR," a different netizen claimed.

"Pretentious much, like Archie knows the difference between cameras he's 4," another added.

"I just can't stand the way she is angling for a donation of a Leica camera the same as she probably did for the bikes gift. I worked in reception long enough to know that this is not how five-year-olds talk," another netizen said.

However, some showed support for Markle and Archie. The former actress said she was not getting Archie that brand of camera because it was expensive, and they approved of her decision. On the other hand, others wanted to buy Archie one, promising they would also purchase his photos.

"Went on Amazon looking for Leica camera for Archie. Cheapest I could find was a used one for $1100. Mamma is right on this one !!!" one said, supporting Markle's decision.

"Sussex Squad be like, Archie wants a Leica camera? Who's going to start the fundraiser?" a fan commented. Another added, "I love this trend. I [am joining] the global movement to petition the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to get Prince Archie a Leica camera. I promise to buy his pictures."

"Let Me Swoop in Like The Cool Cousin I am and get Baby Cuz Prince Archie a Leica Camera. Love You Princess Meghan," a Sussex supporter wrote.

"@LeicaCameraUSA @Leica_UK, please gift Prince Archie a Leica camera," a different person suggested with a praying hands emoji.

Meanwhile, one royal expert claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were already rebranding after they released a video of their charity work for the Archewell Foundation. The royal couple was plagued with negative headlines this year. They were also called "grifters" and among the biggest losers in Hollywood, so they could be eager to rebrand.
