NCT Haechan Allegedly Seen Smoking E-Cig In Behind-The-Scenes Video Day After Health Announcement

Some eagle-eyed netizens claim that NCT's Haechan was allegedly smoking an e-cigarette in NCT 127's "Be There For Me" dance practice video, which was uploaded only a day after the announcement that he would take a temporary break from activities because of his health.

On Tuesday, Haechan's agency informed his fans via NCT 127 and NCT Dream's Weverse communities about his health status and future activities.

While his group was in Japan for its scheduled activities, Haechan reportedly returned to South Korea on Monday to visit the hospital due to his high fever and flu symptoms. After undergoing tests, he was diagnosed with a severe case of tonsillitis and was advised to take plenty of rest.

Because of this, he was not able to participate in the Circle Chart Music Awards on Wednesday.

However, only a day after the announcement regarding his health, Haechan was allegedly seen smoking an e-cigarette in his group's latest dance video practice upload.

According to a post in an online community in South Korea, the scene where Haechan was allegedly smoking his e-cig was originally at the 5:58 and 6:10 parts of the dance practice video.

As of press time, these parts have been edited out of the video. However, the online community uploader was able to save, clip and upload the deleted parts.

"You can smoke, but it's different when you're indoors. That too, while the camera is rolling. If you want to, you can go outside, or go to the smoking area," one netizen commented.

"He looks confident even when the camera is rolling, but how much damage will he actually do?" stated another.

"Oh really. I saw that you were taking a break from activities yesterday due to severe tonsillitis, and I was hoping for a recovery," wrote a third netizen.

Enstarz could not verify why SM Entertainment deleted some parts of NCT 127's dance practice video and when it was filmed. 

Meanwhile, some fans argued on X that Haechan was not smoking and was just eating puffed rice.

"Haechan is eating a puffed rice square, not smoking," tweeted one fan.

"Can you all stop saying Haechan was smoking? He was eating a snack," wrote another fan.
