Tori, Zach Roloff Leaving 'Little People, Big World': 'We Are Done'
Tori Roloff and Zach Roloff are bidding goodbye to their longtime TLC series.
Tori and Zach announced that "Little People, Big World" Season 25 would be their last. The couple has been part of the show that follows the Oregon-based Roloff family with dwarfism for nearly two decades. Tori first joined the series in Season 10 and later married Zach.
"We are not coming back to 'Little People, Big World.' Like, we are done," Tori, 31, began in her joint podcast with Zach, "Raising Heights." "That part of our lives, that chapter, has closed."
Zach, 33, shared the same sentiment as his wife. He doubled down on their decision to leave the reality show for "multiple reasons."
"I think the chapter has closed regardless of us being asked back or not. We've made it pretty clear we're done with that chapter for multiple reasons, the reasons we will get into here," Zach said.
However, he also clarified that they hadn't been asked back, which Tori said was "factual." Zach hinted that their exit has something to do with his falling out with his dad, Matt Roloff, saying that the "last cycle was rough between the family, the farm deal, and we're done with that. "
"It's hard to put everything into a project that you no longer believe in, and I feel like this last season for 'Little People, Big World' that kind of happened. It was no longer a project that we really believed in and so the last year was hard," Tori explained.
Matt and Zach had a falling out over the family's Oregon farm. Following Matt and Amy's divorce, the former retained the property after the latter sold her shares to him. Zach wanted to buy part of the land, but the Roloff patriarch chose not to sell it to his son but later listed it for sale.
"Well, you know, it was hard for me to watch," Amy told Us Weekly about the feud between her ex-husband and son. "I'm just sad that it's come to this. Parts of me [are] not exactly [surprised] because I've dealt with Matt over the years, and he can be tough, he can be grinding, but I also think whatever the expectations were from both of them, they went out the window [and] they obviously did not sync up."
Zach was 13 or 14 when they did the show's pilot. Now, he's already a father of three. He shares three kids with Tori, Jackson Kyle, 6, Lilah Ray, 4, and Josiah Luke, 21 months.
Zach and Tori admitted that they are protective of their children and care how people perceive them. They didn't like the way reality TV was shaping their family in the public eye.
Zach and Tori talked about their firstborn, Jackson, and complimented him for being a "very good" child. Zach said Jackson was a "fantastic baby," with Tori adding he was "so easy." However, he was allegedly painted differently on the show.
Tori recounted a family dinner in a fancy Italian restaurant when they brought baby Jackson. He was reportedly only six months old at the time and was very quiet, but the production "made it seem like he cried through the whole dinner." Tori admitted that she got offended by it.
In 2022, Tori hinted about leaving the series during a Q&A session on Instagram. The mother of three said that a possible reason for their departure would be "all the misconceptions people have of us and our family because they only get to see what TLC shows them," Entertainment Tonight reported.
Additionally, Tori and Zach agreed they didn't want to pressure their children into participating in the reality series. Jackson has already expressed his lack of interest at certain times.
